If Australia stopped exporting minerals tomorrow the world would fold.?
Australia now exports not only hundreds of millions of tons of coal,oil,iron, gas, zinc,copper,aluminium,lead, and so it goes on. The trace elements like chrome vanadium, Uranium, diamonds, gold, tungsten etc, and so can control the world now.. is this not the final power.. No rocket can go to space without them.. and stainless steels need trace elements to.
Australia supplies many things but doesn't have the market cornered on any of them by any manner of means. the country is a sufficiently large player for many resources though, that cessation of production and export would have a very powerful impact on supply and price.
But the world would adjust.
